At Canvey Junior School, we are proud to be a sustainability-focused school, committed to protecting our environment and preparing our pupils for a greener future.

Our Climate Action Plan is guided by the Department for Education’s four key priority areas:

• Climate Adaptation and Resilience
• Biodiversity and Green Infrastructure
• Climate Education, Green Skills, and Green Careers

This work is led by our Sustainability Lead and wider sustainability team, who work closely with our pupil Eco Monitors to drive positive change across the school. Together, they support initiatives that reduce our environmental impact, improve our school environment and encourage sustainable habits in everyday school life.

Through these efforts, we aim to enhance our school grounds, build resilience to climate change and empower our pupils with the knowledge, skills and values they need to become responsible, environmentally aware citizens.

Sustainability is embedded across our curriculum and daily practices, helping every member of our school community play a part in creating a more sustainable future.
