For starters, we hope everyone had a lovely Easter and half-term!
This week, Year 4 had a school trip to Colchester Castle and had lots of fun. Year 6 are working hard as their SATs are in 2.5 weeks (17 days). On Wednesday next week, a few children are attending a netball tournament at Deanes school.
Our big question this week is “What's fake news and how can you spot it?’’
Quote of the week is: Most people focus on the wrong thing: they focus on the result, not the progress.
This week in school, Year 5 have had assessments which they have worked really hard on; they have also taken part in a music workshop. On Friday, 4LH have their class assembly, which we are really looking forward to watching.
On Monday, the upper school boys had a football match against Leigh Beck, where they won 6-4. We are extremely proud of them.
Don't forget, we have an Easter Hat Competition running until Wednesday 2nd April.
Next week, we will be selling Easter Raffle tickets from Monday - Thursday on the playground from 3pm. Here are a few prizes we will be giving away: £30.00 CEX voucher, Bark Park Woodland voucher and a family pass to Monkey Madness in Basildon.
Our Big Question of the week is "What is the difference between Ramadan and Eid?"
Quote of the Week: We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather recognising and appreciating what we do have.
On Tuesday, CJS had a netball match against Northwick Park. We won 21-1 and played our hardest. On Wednesday, our school was also represented in a cross country tournament and performed really well. Today is Miss Shimmins (3DS) class assembly and we hope they will do their best, as they always do.
Our Big Question this week is ‘What is the greatest thing that has ever been invented?'
Quote of the week: Use your smile to change the world; don’t let the world change your smile!
Today, CJS have a mixed netball match against Woodlands School at home. We are wishing them the best of luck with their game today!
Our Year 6 Team Captains have created a Valentines' Day competition, and all you need to do to enter is to create a piece of artwork linked to Valentine's Day. We can't wait to see all of your entries.
Yesterday, there was an Indoor Athletics competition for Year 5 and 6 and we are waiting patiently for the result from Mr Dean tomorrow.
Year 5 had a road safety visit from the Police and Mrs Townsley got stuck in the back of the van - which was exciting and a little bit funny for some!
School councillors have been having meetings and have all decided to create competitions to raise funds for the school: we will soon be asking you for some donations for Easter. We will be needing many things: Easter chocolate, Easter egg baskets, teddies and crafts.
This week, the big question was ‘How can we be control our own learning?’
Quote of the week: 'Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do’
