Recently it was the turn of the Lower School Art Masterclass children. They spent the day with Miss Moorcraft looking at optical illusions. They began by looking at some images to see if they could spot the optical illusion. They then looked at the work of the Dutch artist Escher, who was famous for his mathematical drawings, which included optical illusions and impossible constructions. Finally they then moved on to creating their own optical illusions, drawing a hand which appeared to come out of the page.
