The Maths Upper School Masterclass children spent the day focussing on a variety of problem solving activities. They started the day looking at shape and then drawing 3D shapes using geometrical paper to aid their visualisation skills. Then they looked at triangular numbers, identifying a formula to create the ‘nth’ term. Finally in the afternoon session, they looked at a variety of problems, learning how to solve them using the bar method. They then were able to use what they had learned throughout the day to teach this to their parents, when they came into school for the last part of our afternoon to look at the work they had achieved.
